Michelle Alvarez, as the Assistant Office and Account Manager for SIR, is a true team player and contributor and brings over twenty years of expertise to SIR. With a depth and breadth of experience in accounting and office management, Michelle has jumped right in at SIR, helping support the team in countless ways. Although Michelle only recently joined SIR, her impact and positivity has already made a significant impact at SIR.
Not only is Michelle proficient in all things accounting, but she also demonstrates great strength in her interpersonal and communication skills. Michelle studied business administration at Kingsborough Community College before taking the next steps in her professional journey in accounting and business administration. Prior to joining SIR, Michelle lived and worked in New York City where she was able to develop these gifts and capabilities.
Michelle and her family are now enjoying the laid-back culture of the Richmond region after a long tenure in New York City. Michelle and her husband have three kids and enjoy exploring Richmond and all it has to offer. She loves all things outdoors, including hikes, parks, and the beach. Give her a good book and an ocean view and Michelle is all set.
Helping My Community:
In my spare time I enjoy helping other people and giving back to my community. During my years in New York City, I really enjoyed working with local nonprofits. Through one nonprofit in my neighborhood, I helped people experiencing housing insecurity. Not only did we provide safe resources, food, and clothing, but we also provided spiritual support — providing care and encouragement for the whole person and their well-being. Through my time volunteering, I really learned more about helping folks experiencing these challenges, and I continue to look for ways to serve my community.
